Support, Connect, Engage.

People Belong, Families are Strong, Neighbours Care, Everyone Share.
A welcoming community, supporting each other through diverse programs and resources to build friendships, strengthen our children, and create healthy neighbourhoods. Our mission is to relieve poverty and provide education, support, recreation, and social opportunities for people of all abilities.

We are a community-based agency that began in 1999 with six women meeting together; last year, we served over 5,100 people. We believe in supporting the whole community together, regardless of income level, age, or background. For over 25 years, OPNC has offered a wide range of programs and resources that support and connect our community. We provide services for all ages—from infants to seniors—including poverty support, family programs, multicultural programs, disability support, financial literacy, and much more. Our centre is a non-institutional, barrier-free space that welcomes everyone, reflecting the needs, talents, and strengths of all our neighbours and friends.

We are an agency that steps up when there are no resources available for people in need. We advocate to find solutions that help people get back on their feet with dignity.

OPNC supports people from all over Halton. As a registered charity, we maintain transparency; you can find our constitution, financial audits, annual reports, policies, and board information here. Donations of any size are always welcome, and tax receipts will be provided.

OPNC volunteers are the core of our organization. We rely on our community members to suggest new programming, run programs, connect with participants, assist with fundraising, and share their talents.

Members who are able are asked to contribute $60 per year to help offset expenses. When you attend your first program at OPNC, you will receive a membership form. Follow us on social media to stay updated.

As always, we are here to build stability and community—to ensure that people belong, families are strong, neighbours care, and everyone shares. If you haven’t already, come join us in making a difference!

I feel honoured to be a part of OPNC Seniors Group and I am more than honoured to be a recipient of your generosity. I have been treated in a most respectful manner in all instances regarding my opinion and helping distribute their generous donations to us.

I was thrilled and grateful for the help provided by the tax people at OPNC. I have been trying to get my back taxes done for a couple of years now and could find no one to help me.  Filing my taxes for those years allows me to get the benefits I need as a senior on a fixed income. I am getting a refund that will let me go visit my daughter!

Your summer program for people with special needs saved our family! Our teen child was struggling with mental health issues... this was everything to her, and us. The kind, empathetic leaders made her summer bearable and brought some joy back to her life.
