We are a welcoming community, supporting each other through diverse programs & resources to build friendships, strengthen our childreand create healthy neighbourhoods in Halton. We relieve poverty, provide education, support, recreational & social opportunities
for people of all abilities and ages.
We are a community-based agency that began over 25 years ago, with 6 women & their children gathering together, & have expanded to meet the expressed needs of the Halton community.
Our centre has been set up to be a non-institutional, barrier free space, so that it is welcoming to everyone. It is a reflection of the needs, talents & gifts of our neighbours to be relevant to the whole community. We ensure barriers to participation are reduced so that we reflect a multicultural & financially diverse membership.
We step up when there are no resources available for people struggling to get back on their feet with dignity. Last year alone, we served 5111 people. We provide multicultural programs, food security, household needs, counselling, harm reduction, peer poverty support, utility payments, financial supports, year-round income tax, mobility equipment and seniors, family, infant, toddler, preschool, school age and youth programs.

I feel honoured to be a part of OPNC Seniors Group and I am more than honoured to be a recipient of your generosity. I have been treated in a most respectful manner in all instances regarding my opinion and helping distribute their generous donations to us.
I was thrilled and grateful for the help provided by the tax people at OPNC. I have been trying to get my back taxes done for a couple of years now and could find no one to help me. Filing my taxes for those years allows me to get the benefits I need as a senior on a fixed income. I am getting a refund that will let me go visit my daughter!
Your summer program for people with special needs saved our family! Our teen child was struggling with mental health issues... this was everything to her, and us. The kind, empathetic leaders made her summer bearable and brought some joy back to her life.
